3) When was the Foundation established?

The Knight of Labor Ugo Foscolo Foundation is a private foundation established by UniCredit Group in March 2009. The Foundation continues the activities of the former Fondazione Cavaliere del Lavoro Ugo Foscolo già presidente del Banco di Roma, established in 1966. Its main purposes are to promote studies in the field of economics through grants and scholarships. Find out more in the section "Foundation"

4) Why is the Foundation named after Ugo Foscolo?

The Foundation is named after Ugo Foscolo, in memory of the Knight of Labor Ugo Foscolo former Chairman of Banco di Roma. After his death in 1966, it was his wife’s wish to commemorate him by establishing the Ugo Foscolo Foundation, aiming at supporting the studies of the best students through grants and scholarships. 2) What is a fellowship?

A fellowship is an award targeted at talented researchers who have completed an economics or finance Ph.D. abroad, are teaching or conducting research outside of Italy or Europe, and intend to continue their work at an Italian or European university. Find out more in the section "Fellowships"

3) Does the Foundation offer any scholarships for undergraduates?

4) Shall I be an Italian citizen to apply for a scholarship/fellowship?

5) What is the scholarship worth?

Currently the scholarships offered by the Foundation cover up to euro 25,000 plus the tuition fees. They are granted for one year and can be renewed for a second year.Find out more in the section "Scholarships"

6) What is the fellowship worth?

Currently the fellowships offered by the Foundation cover up to euro 60,000. They are granted for two years and are renewable for a second two-year term. Find out more in the section "Fellowships"

8) What are the main eligibility requirements to apply for a fellowship?

The eligibility requirements depend on the fellowship you wish to apply for (Crivelli, Foscolo Europe). Generally speaking, fellowships are offered to talented researchers who have completed an economics or finance Ph.D. abroad, are teaching or conducting research outside of Italy or Europe, and intend to continue their work at an Italian or European university. 9) Which is the mission of the Scientific Committee?

The Scientific Committee plays a fundamental role in the Foundation by selecting the best students and researchers from among the award applicants. On June 15, 2009, the Foundation will announce the eighth edition of the Crivelli Scholarships on this site, consisting of two new scholarships for the academic year 2010-2011. Find out more in the section "Scholarships"
